Overview
This summer I began volunteering for Professor Grecov's research at UBC. She researches the behaviour and applications of non-Newtonian fluids in industry and medicine. I helped her research group simulate the behaviour of synovial fluid in a hip joint as a power law non-Newtonian fluid.
Research
- Modelled and simulated laminar flow in a 3D hip joint geometry in COMSOL Multiphysics
- Did sensitivity analysis by adjusting mesh size and comparing results, plotted both simulated and derived quantities in COMSOL and MATLAB
- Wrote a brief report in LaTEX on the results here
